Insider’s Guide to Thanos Hotels

This week’s blog is an insider’s guide to the Thanos hotels: Annabelle and Almyra. These two five-star, fantastic hotels are situated in Paphos and whilst you are staying at either of them you will have easy access to four brilliant golf courses: Elea Golf Club, Minthis Hills and Secret Valley. When you are thinking about your next golf break, Paphos is a great consideration with practically year-round golfing weather and these two beautiful and luxurious resorts.

Thanos Hotel Annabelle is situated just an eight minutes’ walk from the beach and is set amongst tropical landscaped gardens with palm trees and flowers. Whilst you are not out enjoying a round on one of the three local golf courses, you can enjoy relaxing around the large outdoor pool with its swim-in caves or relax in the sauna or take a trip next-door to Hotel Almyra to use the spa facilities there. All of the rooms are decorated with elegant marble features and all of the amenities that you would expect from a hotel of this standard including a satellite TV, an elegant ensuite bathroom as well as a minibar and free Wi-Fi.

As the Annabelle overlooks the Port of Paphos, you are within a short distance of all of the attractions there including watersports and historical buildings. Of course, there are also many restaurants and bars for you to try whilst staying here but if you would rather eat within the hotel there are two excellent restaurants. The hotel boasts a Mediterranean Restaurant which serves traditional Cypriot and Greek dishes as well as international cuisine and whilst dining, you can enjoy views of the sea. The hotel’s main restaurant, Fontana, serves buffet-style meals.

With so much to do, see, eat and drink both within the hotel’s grounds and in the local area of Paphos, there is no surprise that this is a highly recommended destination for your next golf holiday to Paphos with great weather, fantastic golf and luxury accommodation.

Hotel Annabelle’s sister, Hotel Almyra, is right next door and boasts the same excellent location as Hotel Annabelle but is only a five minutes’ walk to the beach as well as just a five minutes’ walk to Paphos Harbour. The hotel boasts four freshwater pools for you to relax around whilst you are not out on one of the three great golf courses which are all close to the hotel. The Almyra boasts an excellent spa with a sauna, a gym and a wide range of holistic treatments and massages for you to choose from.

This is a beautifully luxurious hotel and the rooms are all spacious and light with either floor-to-ceiling windows or a private balcony or terrace from which you can enjoy the stunning views of tropical gardens and the sea. The rooms also feature a minibar, a satellite TV, a minibar and a safe. Like its sister hotel, Almyra offers guests the choice of four different restaurants including the main restaurant where you can enjoy a traditional Cypriot breakfast in the morning. Of course, being just five minutes’ walk into the Port of Paphos means that you have plenty of choices when it comes to food and drink but you can also enjoy restaurants serving traditional and local cuisine as well as international dishes right at the hotel.

Hotel Almyra is a great hotel in a superb location and is truly befitting of its five-star rating which makes it a perfect hotel for your next golf break to Cyprus.

There are three courses which guests at the Annabelle and Almyra tend to play due to them being great courses within a short distance of the hotels. Elea Golf Club is one of the golf courses and boasts a stunning location set above the Mediterranean Sea. Elea Golf Club is a tricky course with an abundance of bunkers and so requires strategic play in order to navigate your way around them. The course’s signature hole is its 17th which is a long par-4 which features dramatic bunkering and a sloping fairway. This is a great course with excellent views and is nearby to both Thanos hotels.

Minthis Golf Club is just 25 minutes’ drive from the town of Paphos and is located 550 metres above sea level which means that even during the summer months, you will have to endure the winds from the sea which could strongly affect your play if you aren’t careful. This course blends effortlessly into its surroundings with fruit trees and grape vines lining the fairways which wind and slope through the hills. The course boasts a wide range of different holes which makes it a great holiday course but although the course looks straightforward, you will need to play accurately if you want to score well here.

The 18-hole championship course at Secret Valley Golf Club. The course boasts an interesting layout with an interesting backdrop of rock formations and mature trees. The back nine holes are certainly more challenging than the front nine but if you can manage to keep the ball in play and avoid the many water hazards, you can score close to your handicap. Although this is a long course, there are many different tee option which means that it is still suitable for players of all handicaps!

The Aphrodite Hills, PGA National Cyprus was designed by the world-renowned golf architect, Cabell Robinson, and was officially opened to the public in 2002. Since then the course has attained the highest standard recognition in golf, the PGA National, Cyprus; a true testament of its unbeatable quality. This golf course will provide you with an unforgettable round of golf and is sure to be essential on any itinerary for an amazing golf holiday in Cyprus.

Both Annabelle and Almyra are stunning hotels with all of the amenities that you would expect from five-star hotels and so it isn’t a surprise that they are top recommendations for your next golf holiday to Cyprus especially with three brilliant golf courses all within close proximity of the hotels.
