Opened in 1923 by the Pasha of Marrakech, the Royal Golf de Marrakech is the oldest golf club in Morocco and is reportedly one of His Majesty King Hassan ll's favourite courses. It is situated at the foot of the snow-covered Atlas mountains and is lined by a variety of cypress, eucalyptus, palm, olive, orange and apricot trees. There is a real English style to the course with strategically placed bunkers protecting its greens and testing tall trees and palms. With 27 holes to choose from the Royal Golf de Marrakech should be included on your golf itinerary for your next golf holiday to Morocco.
Caddies are compulsory in Morocco and on some courses that applies even if you hire a buggy - fees are paid locally with the minimum amount being 100 Dirhams (£8.00) however if your caddy has done a good job you're expected to pay 150 - 200 Dirhams - please allow for this extra cost when you're planning your golf holiday to Morocco
